Dark Skies Movie Review

Dark Skies Movie Review and analysis

Since i am a horror movies fan i was looking forward to watching Dark Skies,I found the plot of the film intriguing even though there have been a lot of films that have come with a similar story. The Dark Skies revolved around a family whose peaceful life has been turned upside down because of a deadly supernatural force behind them.Read on for the complete review and analysis below.

Review

Before writing the Dark Skies Movie Review and Analysis i first found out what others had to say about the film, interestingly the film has got a rating of 6.3 in IMDB website which is not too shabby but i think was a bit high for it.

The plot as i said earlier was a little similar to the other movies in the horror genre where a family is struggling to make ends meet and its because of the lack of money that the family falls into a bit more of a chaos.

Kerri Russell who played the role of Lucy did a good job.Josh Hamilton who played the Role of Josh (Her Husband) was seen Job hunting for most part. The couple have two kids.

There were a lot of references of other films such as Paranormal activity which were included which i thought was because of the lack of originality within the film.Apart from Paranormal Activity the film seemed to be taking a leaf out of Hitchcock's The Birds as well.

I personally felt the movie had a lot of potential which was wasted and could have done a lot better if it was worked on a bit more rather than most part of it feeling a repeat of the other superhit Horror Genre's movie.

I would like to end my review by saying that if you are a Horror fan,it is watchable but don't blame me if you don't like it.

Characters

The voice of the characters Marlin and Dory will be dubbed by Albert Brooks and Ellen DeGenres who were the part of the first movie as well.

As you might know it Dory and Ellen are two inseparable characters in the movie and we can expect them to have major roles in Finding Dory as well.

Story

The film is expected to take place a year post events where Nemo disappeared and was found with great difficulty. This time the story will revolve around Dory who helped Nemo find the way back home. The other characters from the previous film are also expected to make a return.

The earlier movie has won a lot of awards and achievements and was one of the favorite movies for kids to watch.Apart from the kids there were a lot of middle age and adults who also appreciated the movie. There is a mind block among many people that if a movie is an animated one it must be for kids, thankfully this movie changed the trend among many i know.

The film also officially won 2003 academy award for the best animated movie. There were many merchandises as well as a video game which was released based on the movie which did quite well to an extent.

The good news for the fans of animated movies is that it just does not end with the release date of this movie. The other movies lined up for release are

• Monsters University - June 21
• Planes - August 9
• Frozen - November 27
• The Good Dinosaur - May 30.2014

What are your expectations from the characters and story of the Finding Nemo Sequel Named 'Finding Dory' which has a release date set to somewhere around November 25 2015?

New Tomb Raider movie arriving soon

Tomb Raider Movie in the Makes

The 2001 Angelina Jolie starrer adventure and fantasy film Tomb Raider is coming back in its new form.A new Tomb Raider Movie which will not be a continuation to the previous Angelina Jolie movies is said to be in the makes confirmed Variety.

GK Films,A company that provided super hit movies such as the The Departed and Argo are working closely with Crystal Dynamics towards the making of the Film.

The first Movie released in 2001 didn't impress much and Angelina Jolie also received  the Worst Actress Golden Raspberry Award which she actually lost to Mariah Carey for the movie Glitter.

However this movie that's in the makes and about to release is expected to be much better than the previous one's as Darrell Gallagher(Head of Crystal Dynamics)has confirmed that the current movie will not be a continuation of the previous Tomb Raider Movies released in 2001 and 2003.

Tomb Raider Movies list released so far:

• Lara Croft:Tomb Raider - 2001
• The Cradle of Life - 2003

As for now it has not been confirmed if Angelina Jolie will be a part of the new Tomb Raider Film.If she is not the one it would be interesting to see who replaces her.

I remember seeing this movie ages ago and i really feel they didn't do much justice to how good the game franchise actually is.It will be nice to see a bit more of action in the upcoming Tomb Raider movie and hopefully fingers crossed we will get to see Angelina Jolie reprise her role once again.

Oscar Awards 2013 Results

Oscar Awards 2013 was a movie awards function which was just as prestigious as Grammy Award 2013 was for music. At the show we saw some of the most beautiful actresses with their lovely dresses making their presence felt at the Oscar Awards 2013 results show.

When i saw the show most of the results were expected with the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence winning the Best Actress award for her fantastic performance in the silver linings playbook.

Argo also received multiple awards such as best picture, adapted screenplay and editing.Adele's Skyfall which was one of the best songs in recent times won the award for the best original song.

The highlight of the oscar awards 2013 results for me however was Brave winning the best animated movie award.I always thought Brave was a better animated movie in comparison to the other movies released.

A few twitter responses regarding 'JJ Abrams to direct Star Wars' were:

Splinter Cell is another game that is being adapted into a movie. The Hollywood heartthrob Tom Hardy will be starring in this movie reported Variety. The Movie has now been in the makes since 2006.Further information regarding the release date,Studio, production information etc have not yet been confirmed. This is the second game adapted movie after Assassin's Creed that has been in the talks recently.Hopefully this will turn out to be a good one and we are fingers crossed i hope we are just getting started. It would be nice if we could also see movie adaptations of games such as Dishonored, Darksiders and Black Ops.Will it happen?Well there is nothing official but i feel it might happen in the near future considering the amount of gamers who are love  these games. However if these movie adaptations will do justice to themselves on the silver screen is something we will have to wait and watch.

Cabin in the woods is a good watch

I am a massive horror movies fan and i must say The Cabin In  The Woods is one of the best horror movies i have seen in the recent past. The only reason why i have not listed this movie in my top ten favorite horror movies section here is because this is a movie i got to see quite a few days after creating that list.

Unlike Other movies which keep going on and on and on with no motive and cheap thrills this one was quite different and surprisingly very good.It was basically a sci fi cum horror movie.Even though i liked this movie a lot i have a feeling this could have done a lot better if it did not drag on at a few places. The story of the movie is about 5 friends who go to a cabin for an outing and bizzare things take place and there are ghosts, zombies and other supernatural creatures everywhere.

This is definitely one of the best horror movies i have seen in the recent past and worth a watch just because its not the same old and i strongly believe movies like these keep my faith alive that a simple movie such as this can still give you thrills
