Working Smart better than Working hard !!!!

Have you come across a situation where you are working hard but not getting anything in return but your colleagues are working pretty casually and are getting all the increments and respect that you deserve,if this is true its high time you start working smart but this does not mean you stop working hard as well.As you might have heard the saying that goes "Hard Work Always Pays" in someway or the other this was,is and will be the nature's rule.

Q.What does it mean working smart rather than working hard???

 A.Well,The Answer is quiet simple if you start just working hard you would not be noticed as you will be busy with your work all the time,once this happens you automatically tend to ignore whats happening in your surroundings and in the society that we live in today's world you will end up being told that you have attitude,your egoistic etc etc.Bonding is a very important factor in todays world before you can go ahead and expect good things to happen to you,Whether it be your colleagues,your manager,your clients or whoever...If you are not in a position to have a good bonding with them,they will be the ones who will matter to speak on your behalf if things go bad.These days when you go to work you get all kinds of people who work with you,Some will be humble,backstabbers,practical,Frank.You need to be very careful while dealing with each and everyone of you because when i said you will find all kinds of people this list will also include your team leader and your team manager,Always remember if something does something bad to you dont retaliate make your work do the talking and try to bond with him/her to figure out what the problem is and solve it as quickly as you can depending on how long you and your colleagues/team leaders are on a different page thats the amount of time your work would be ignored and this will prove to be very unlucky if thats the time you have worked the best in your Career.Always be assertive and not arrogant while talking,Assertive is making your point known,Arrogant will result in you being very rude at times,Just remember one thing there is a very thin difference between being assertive and being arrogant so be very careful,Assertive just means putting your foot down in a polite way!!!

Learn to Say No:

This is one thing that i myself am not very good at till today as im still learning everyday,One thing which is very difficult to do in a corporate world is saying no.This can lead you to a dangerous position as if you overcommit and underperform you will end up being on the bad books once again no matter how hard you have performed until that and you will be judged so the best way to go about it is to undercommit just a little bit and Overperform.I would like to end by saying just the one thing here no matter how many HR'S are willing to say we will make sure things are in order or no matter how many Skip level meetings you have or how many complains you make if you are having a problem very rarerly you can expect a drastic measure will be taken so the only thing best for you to think if things are not going your way is "Survive".
