Its all about Windows 8

Microsoft has come a long way since their launch of the operating systems.I still remember when i was a kid we did not have anything with a good Graphical user interface the only thing we could use then was MS.DOS which was a big boring black box and we used to use dos command to move between directories and execute applications. The evolution for microsoft started when they launched windows 3.1 which was a delight to the eyes during the initial days,Windows 5,98 followed to be a huge hit..xp was another visual treat for users and we all had high expections from Vista but it turned out to be a dud and no one liked it at all.Microsoft then had to quickly take the initiative back and they released windows 7 which is very impressive.Microsoft have also confirmed that Windows 7 is what Windows Vista should actually have been.Let us look at what kind of system requirements you need to have to use windows 8 release preview flawlessly

Windows 8 Release Preview works great on the same hardware that powers Windows 7:
  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
  • RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
  • Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
Additional requirements to use certain features:
  • To use touch, you need a tablet or a monitor that supports multitouch.
  • To access the Windows Store and to download and run apps, you need an active Internet connection and a screen resolution of at least 1024 x 768.
  • To snap apps, you need a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768.
  • Internet access (ISP fees might apply)

One good thing to note here is that you dont have to go for an upgrade to install windows 8 pheewww isnt that a relif??

Looking more into it,Windows 8 is a planned release of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems being produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablets, and home theater PCs. The release to manufacturing (RTM) occurred August 1, 2012, and Windows 8 will be available to users starting October 26, 2012.Windows 8's server counterpart, Windows Server 2012, is in development concurrently with Windows 8.
According to the Windows Design Team, Windows 8 has been "reimagined from the chipset to the user experience,"whereas Windows 7 was intended to be a more focused, incremental upgrade to the Windows line.Windows 8 features a new user interface based on Microsoft's Metro design language, similar to that in Windows Phone. Microsoft claims the new interface is designed to better suit touchscreen input, along with traditional mouse and keyboard input. A version of Windows 8, called Windows RT, also adds support for the ARM processor architecture in addition to the previously supported x86 microprocessors from Intel, AMD, and VIA.

Currently Microsoft has confirmed that there are going to be three versions of windows 8 which will be released. They are Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, and Windows RT.The consumer preview is now available for download at the microsoft website. How will windows 8 turn out to be will we get rid of all the compatibility issues is had with XP?or will it end up with another disappointment only time will tell !!!!
