The rise and rise of Angry Birds

Did we ever see this coming?We never imagined it that a game as silly as simple as the Angry Birds will be a massive hit with almost half the population playing it!!Rovio really made a massive impact on all age groups and have this coming on almost all the consoles exsisting.For those who dont know much about the game
Angry Birds is a strategy puzzle video game developed by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Entertainment. Inspired primarily by a sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009.Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple's App Store,which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, such as those using the Android operating system, among others.In the game, players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playing field. As players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has also released stand-alone holiday and promotional versions of the game.Angry Birds has been praised for its successful combination of addictive gameplay, comical style, and low price. Its popularity led to versions of Angry Birds being created for personal computers and gaming consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters and even long-term plans for a feature film or television series. With a combined 1 billion downloads across all platforms and including both regular and special editions,the game has been called "one of the most mainstream games out right now","one of the great runaway hits of 2010",and "the largest mobile app success the world has seen so far".The impact of the initial release of Angry birds was so huge that Rovio released a few more versions of it such as

2. Angry Birds Seasons
3. Angry Birds Rio 
4. Angry Birds Magic
5. Angry birds space

Out of all these versions my personal two favorite versions are Angry birds Rio and Angry birds Seasons the look and the gameplay of both looks great.This game has so much addiction that these days every person of every age let it be a kid hiding his mobile phone in school/college under the bench or an adult trying to pass his time due to no electricity.Everyone is playing it !!But you know what they say too much addiction can also be too bad.

Well Angry Birds just does not stop there..There have been many spoofs of the game that has come out not by Rovio.One spoof i remember playing was Angry pigs it was not that good due to obvious reasons.

Again,it just doesnt stop with the spoofs Rovio has made a great name for themselves even in the merchanside section.These days we see many people wanting Angry Birds T Shirts,Different kind of angry birds board games,Angry Birds Cake,Angry birds casing covers for iphone,ipad laptops and so much more.Dont you think this is a little too much for a simple game such as Angry birds???Rovio brings back faith in a common man that to be big you just need to have simplicity at its best and the rest will follow.Recently there is a new game launched by Rovio named Amazing  Alex,Only time will tell if Rovio can create the same magic of Angry birds was just a one off.
