Google Maps for IOS now allows local search

Local Search,Address lookup for Google contacts now enabled on Google Maps for IOS

The Google Maps for IOS which has recently been updated brings a variety of updates to the users of this popular map application on IOS devices.The new update also brings integration with local search information of popular attractions such as restaurants,Bars among many others.

The usage of the Google Maps for IOS application is also pretty simple with the users having the flexibility to view the results on the same page or swiping across the screen to view the results as a map view.

The application also has an ability to search addresses of Google contacts if  signed in to the Google account through the credentials.A thing to note here is that the users can only search for addresses of contacts in their Google account and not in their IOS Device.

The users also have an ability to choose kilometers or miles as distance units.The app is not yet optimized for iPads.The Update brings maps of the following countries

• Oman
• Qatar
• Saudi Arabia
• United Arab Emirates

The Google directions map for IOS was launched in December 2013 and the application had 10 million downloads within the first 48 hours upon release.
