The first one day international cricket match between Pakistan and South Africa(held on 10/03/2013)started on a high note for Pakistan as they won the toss and elected to field first.The South Africans however won the match convincingly towards the end by 125 Runs with Colin Ingram making a century while batting and Rory Kleinveldt picking up four wickets to help South Africa attain a lead in the 5 match series.

Statistical Highlights:

South Africa had a steady first wicket partnership when they were batting with the opening batsman making a stand of 72 runs.Pakistan pulled things back to an extent when they picked up a couple of wickets(Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla)quickly but after that a magnificent partnership between Colin Ingram and AB De Villiers took the match in the favor of South Africa with both making 65 and 105 runs respectively to lay the foundation for the remaining batsman to reach a score of 315 Runs.

Almost all the bowlers in the Pakistan team got a stick and the highlight of Pakistan bowling was again Saeed Ajmal who picked up 2 wickets for 53 Runs.

Pakistan batting started with a lot of positivity and in the beginning it really looked like the target might be too easy for the Pakistan team to chase down.The highlight of the Pakistan batting was Misbah Ul Haq who made a slow 38 Runs of 55 balls.

South Africa bowling initially took a stick but steadied things quickly after they picked up the openers.Rory Kleinvedlt's bowling was excellent as he picked up 4 wickets for 22 runs and was undoubtedly the highlight of the South African bowling.

Colin Ingram was selected as the Player of the match

South Africa now lead the 5 match ODI Series 1-0
