England's bowling on the first day of the third test match against New Zealand on 22/03/2013 was a bit disappointing with only Steven Finn picking up one wicket and no other bowlers contributing.

New Zealand's batting on the other hand was splendid with them loosing only 1 wicket with Peter Fullton and Kane Williamson having a huge partnership of 171 runs with both of them remaining not out at a score of 124 and 83 respectively.Their first wicket partnership was not too bad either with Hamish rutherford and Fulton adding 79 runs.Hamish Rutherford made 37 runs before he was caught by Alaistar cook of the bowling of Steven finn.

New Zealand seem to be well in the drivers seat the end at the end of the play today. The England bowling will need to make early inroads tomorrow if they do not want the home team to make a huge score in their first innings to cause them a headache.

Tomorrow's play promises to be a cracker with both the teams looking to take the initiative. It will be interesting to see how the plans of both the teams change going into the second day's play.
