There are a few plans of bringing the "Epic" game Gears of War to the big screen. As per the news at Variety, which apparently reports that the Creative Artists Agency that represents Epic Games is very "eager" to meet the producers to discuss on the possibility of adapting the series for the big screen.
The Film has been in development since 2007, but as per the site the company had put the film on hold to focus their efforts on Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy. The production company to which CAA plans to pitch the project is not clear yet.
The Gears of War movie has been anticipated for a long time now. Len Wiseman(Live Free or Die Hard director) joined the project long ago in 2008, before dropping the plans from the movie in 2010.The Man on Fire and Top Gun director Tony Scott were also very eager to direct the film as is believed.
In either case it is known that the project will proceed without former Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski. who left the Cary, North Carolina-based studio last week after 20 years to "chart the next stage" of his career.
The next installment of gears of war known as Gears of War Judgement is expected to be out on March 19, 2013 exclusively for Xbox 360.Epic Games and People Can Fly are the developers for the same along with a Polish studio that recently became a wholly owned Epic Games outfit.
Im not sure how the movie will fair...But i know this game has a lot of fans so its worth a shot to adapt this as a movie!
