Woman Survives for 44 years with thermometer in lung

A group of Doctors in China discovered a thermometer inside a woman's body that had been there for 44 years! During a regular hospital check up, doctors had discovered approximately a two-inch long foreign object inside a woman’s (named “Liu,”) left lung.

“She told us when she was 12 she had a fever. The family put a thermometer in her mouth to measure her temperature, but she swallowed the thermometer on the spot,” said Yang Qihong, Liu’s neighbor.

As the patient and her family could not afford medical care they could not have the object removed.

Even though the thermometer has stayed inside her lung for 44 years, the amazing fact is that this hasn’t caused any kind of discomfort up until then.However the only cause of concern the doctors have is that if the thermometer breaks the mercury inside can cause serious heath problems for the patient. Its still not ascertained the plan of action the doctors have to remove the thermometer hopefully things should be sorted out soon and Liu back to her normal health in a jiffy.
