The Facebook addiction just keeps getting bigger and bigger.From kids to adults no one is able to get enough of it and the current statistics show the same.One of the most loved social networking site has now reached 1 billion users who "actively" spend time on the site.this was announced by the company CEO Mark Zuckerberg .One of the most biggest milestone by facebook was reached on September 14 at 12:45 p.m. PDT, and you know what this means?This means that one seventh of the world's population is a member of the site.mind boggling isn't it?
Now how the "active user" is defined is something im not sure of, but apparently NBC has reported that the count was 1 billion excluding fake users and bot accounts.Wow that means it will be almost double if you count that as well.
As most of you know Mark Zuckerberg created this fantastic social networking site at his Harvard dorm room less than a decade ago,which now hosts a range of games that includes Zynga and Electronic Arts and lots more entertaining applications within it.
There were several Facebook metrics which were also shared. As per the data from the company, The Following has been achieved by Facebook
--->1.13 trillion "likes" since launch in February 2009.
---->140.3 billion friend connections.
---->219 billion photos uploaded (265 billion if deleted photos were counted).
---->17 billion location-tagged posts, including check-ins.
---->62.6 million songs have been played 22 billion times.
The Other data also revealed that the average age of a Facebook user is around 22, down from a average age of 23 which was the metric when facebook reached 500 million users in July 2010. Apart from this, There are around 600 million users who log in to Facebook through a mobile device.Up is the only way facebook can go from this.Bravo Mark Zuckerberg for such a brilliant idea.
