The WII U console by Nintendo was one of the most anticipated and has made its own mark in console gaming. The popularity apparently is so huge that it has been reported that around 7,000 Wii U consoles which were an estimated value of $2.1 million have been stolen

"I've been a cop for 28 years, and I've never seen anything like this," Sgt. Cindy West told ABC News. "This has come straight out of the movies."

ABC News confirmed the stolen consoles were original WII systems, however Kotaku confirmed with the King County Sheriff's Office that the units were actually the Wii U consoles. With an average price of $300, the thieves made off with about $2.1 million worth of hardware.Things get a little weirder towards the end of the year.
