Multiple Sources yesterday had reported that Facebook was in talks to purchase the popular multiplatform mobile messaging application WhatsApp.However allthingssd have confirmed through multiple sources that this was just a rumor.
Facebook apparently responded to the speculation by saying they don't comment on any rumors or speculations
Facebook and Google however have both been interested in purchasing the application in the past.
WhatsApp which has crossed around 100 million downloads on the Google play store is most loved because it contains no ads and works on Wifi and does not require you to have internet(data plan)on your mobile phone. Unlike Blackberry messenger you would not need to go ahead and pay additional data charges to use this application.Looking at the future if this application is sold to either Google or Facebook it will be interesting to see how they maintain the application further and what kind of changes can be expected out of it.
