Nintendo president sorry for the first day WII U updates

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has apologized to all the WII U owners as they had to download a huge update on the first day of using the console to make use of all the console's network related features.Speaking to IGN Satoru Iwata apologised for the same and also said that he thought the users should be able to use all the online features as soon as they open the box.

He also confirmed somewhere else that WII U will not follow the lead of Playstation or Xbox in regards to the online functionality and that Wii U's social network Miiverse will be a very unique game-dedicated social graph that has never existed before.
