David Warner an opening batsman for the Australian Cricket team seems to have injured a thumb while training. This will come as a serious blow to Australia as they prepare to tour India and are set for the ODI series against West Indies which begins Friday.
Warner was hit on the thumb while Mitchell Johnson was bowling at him during a practice session in the nets,Confirmed Cricinfo. At this stage however it is not clear how serious his injury is or how long he will be out of action.
Warner looked in great touch and picked up good form during the 1st Twenty20 Cricket match against the Sri Lankans where he made 90 of just 62 balls.
He also has followed the footsteps of Matthew Hayden very well as the aggressive opening batsman who goes all guns blazing during his day and can tear any bowling apart.Australia will seriously be hoping he recovers quickly as their batting department is just a little tentative after the retirement of Michael Hussey and Ricky Ponting.
