FIFA 13(Soccer Simulator) has been announced as the Game of the year by AbleGamers and will receive the charity's Game of the Year award. The most impressive feature for the foundation was the way how FIFA 2013 allowed players to control the full game with only mouse among many other features within the game such as

  • Remappable keys
  • Customizable color options
  • High-contrast
  • Intuitive menus
  • visual cues
  • High socializing replayability

Gamers suffering from Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and even one-handed gamers were able to enjoy the game as the controls were so simple that just needed to be handled by a trackball or mouse, Spohn said.

The main reason for the game achieving the game of the year award was because of the game's AI and PC settings allowing disabled players to tweak to the game as per their needs. Spohn also confirmed that fifa 13 could be slowed down. This allowed gamers with cognitive disorders and motor impairments to set an appropriate  speed as per their needs.

2K Games' XCOM: Enemy Unknown also recieved an honorable mention for the top award because of its
  • remappable keys
  • ability to use only mouse or keyboard to play
  • subtitles
  • colorblind mode.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Dishonored were also  named as  two of the few games making strides toward accessibility in 2012.
More information about the entire event is available at the group's official website.
