Will Sourav Ganguly be the next Indian Coach?

Sourav Ganguly former Indian Cricket team captain

Indian cricket team is currently going through a transition phase where their bowlers are pretty young and are slowly getting used to the pressures of international cricket.Almost all the batsman in the Indian Cricket Team apart from Dhoni seem to have a slump of form which has caused the world champions to go down rapidly in all forms of cricket.A lot of criticism has been made regarding to the coaching methods of the current  coach Duncan Fletcher.Dhoni recently said that the coach does his best but its upto the players to go on the field and perform but its hard to ignore how the team was under Gary Kirsten and how it is now under Duncan Fletcher.Among these issues there are also rumors doing the rounds that Duncan Fletcher's contract will not be extended until the Indian cricket team shows some drastic improvements.

Being a world champion lot is expected from a team but the Indian team is not finding any respite in either format of the game be it one day,twenty20 or test match.Their loss to England in the test series 2-1 and against Pakistan in the one day international 2-0(currently) is very hard to digest for a team who have quite a few world class batsman.Whats more heart breaking is that the losses were in the home soil.

Former cricket player Gundappa Viswanath has suggested that Ganguly will be the best person to coach team India.Ganguly on the other hand has shown his interests on coaching as well.He recently said that Indian team can do well under an Indian coach as well as all the training methods are the same everywhere but this was not the case earlier and it was important for them to be under a foreign coach. If Ganguly does become the coach of team India it will be interesting to see what changes happen to the team. That is a big if as nothing is official yet but as the saying goes "Never say Never"
